Main The Tobacco Control Act gives the FDA broad authority to regulate tobacco-product manufacturing, distribution and marketing. Implementation of these regulatory authorities is expected to reduce tobacco-related morbidity and mortality in the long term and to influence tobacco-product risk perceptions and use patterns in the short term.
