Enhance data management systems for timely reporting of NARMS data. NARMS is a collaboration between FDA, CDC, and USDA that monitors antibiotic resistance in foodborne pathogens collected from humans, food animals, and retail raw meats. NARMS data provides regulatory officials and the veterinary medical community with critical information to help assess the risk associated with antimicrobial use in food animal production. This project will provide information to better understand and combat antimicrobial resistance in foodborne pathogens. (1) An integrated database has been built on FDA’s extranet site which will allow partner labs access to enter data. The annual report for NARMS can now be generated more efficiently and the data can be shared more effectively. main 1.
