FDA has proven to have a consistent and strengthened national capability to prevent, prepare for, and respond to any type of incident involving FDA regulated products as required under the National Response Framework.</outcome><accomplishment>Led by the Office of Crisis Management (OCM), an FDA National Incident Management System (NIMS) Implementation Working Group was formed in August 2009 to drive the agency’s efforts to comply with the requirements of NIMS and ongoing initiatives which support the achievement of this goal. FDA invested in a multi-tiered approach for the development and implementation of an effective NIMS Incident Command System (ICS). In order to promote the application of ICS principles within the agency and its federal, state, and local agency partners, FDA, through the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) Division of Human Resource Development, conducted 27 classes of intermediate ICS 300 with a total of 753 personnel trained and 23 classes of advanced ICS 400 with a total of 592 personnel trained since mid-FY2008. Since March 2010, FDA completed 8 sessions of ICS 402, providing an ICS overview for 109 Executives/Senior Officials within the agency. FDA also conducted position-specific classroom training to a total of 105 personnel to serve as Incident Commanders, Operations Section Chiefs, Planning Section Chiefs, Logistics Section Chiefs and Finance/Admin Section Chiefs on Incident Management Teams (IMTs) that will be expected to mobilize/deploy in a response capacity.</accomplishment><table><title></title><overall-status><briefing></briefing><prior-briefing></prior-briefing></overall-status><row><type></type><milestone-description>A.
