Maintain full AAALAC (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International) accreditation for the CBER Animal Facility
Description: The AAALAC accreditation of the CBER Animal Facilities demonstrates CBER's commitment to animal welfare principles while providing its research programs with high quality research animal models with which to advance our public health research initiatives. AAALAC is the gold standard for animal care programs.
Accomplishment: On April 13, 2011, CBER received notification that Full Accreditation had been awarded on March 3, 2011, to the CBER Animal Facility. AAALAC accreditation is the gold standard for animal care programs. This accreditation demonstrates CBER’s commitment to animal welfare principles while providing its research programs with high quality research animal models with which to advance our public health research initiatives.
