Resource Planning for Foods Program Project
Description: Evaluate and align CVM foods resources to the One Mission, One Program initiative goals of the unified FDA Foods Program.
Accomplishment: CVM, in collaboration with the Office of Foods, identified a framework for connecting Food Program resources to public health outcomes. Specific actions accomplished were:
- Development of a Foods Activity Framework that depicts purpose and types of work performed/services delivered.
- Establishment of a current allocation of CVM’s Foods Program resources against the final Foods Program Activity Framework
- Alignment of performance measures to the new framework
This framework provides an evidenced-based methodology to develop reliable and verifiable estimates of the resources needed to fulfill FDA’s responsibilities so that FDA requests the resources needed to protect and promote the public health at a level of assurance that the American public expects.
