Academic Development of a Training Program for Good Laboratory Practices in Maximum Biocontainment
Description: Develop and implement a training program to identify and share best practices ensuring data quality and integrity in animal studies in Biosafety Level (BSL) 4 to cross-educate medical countermeasure (MCM) sponsors, scientists, veterinarians, quality assurance personnel, regulators, reviewers, and policy-makers on the conduct of regulated studies in BSL 4 laboratory facilities. This training program will help facilitate the development and regulatory review of MCMs and the translation of breakthrough discoveries in science and technology into innovative, safe, and effective MCMs, increasing the ability of the US government to protect the nation from chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) and emerging infectious disease threats.
