Description: The Office of Public Affairs will issue and post to its Website a policy outlining the agency’s release of information to the news media, which will identify how the agency will strive to respond quickly, thoroughly, and openly with news organizations. This project will improve the office’s transparency in public health media outreach.
Accomplishment: HHS recently issued its own news media policy: http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/NewsEmbargoPolicy/default.htm. These guidelines apply to all operating divisions of HHS, including FDA.
