Acquisition Self-Assessment
Description: This project complies with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-123, which requires managers to continuously monitor and improve the effectiveness of internal controls associated with the acquisition function. Additionally, the Circular requires agencies to coordinate and integrate the A-123 assessment efforts within the agency’s existing internal control process. These improvements and coordinated activities allow for more efficient internal operations supporting public health efforts.
Accomplishment: OMB Guidelines were issued in May 2008 to help agencies conduct a comprehensive and standardized assessment for entity level internal control reviews. To implement these guidelines, an acquisition self-assessment was conducted at OAGS. OAGS used the results to evaluate the quality of their procurement processes and systems. When necessary, appropriate corrective action was taken to improve and maintain performance.
