About FDA
Total number of employees who completed the training events in the month
Dictionary: FDA recognizes that in order to stay current with rapidly evolving science and health information, it must institute a strong training culture across the agency. This measure tracks total training attendance throughout the fiscal year. If an individual attends multiple training events/courses in a single month, the individual is counted more than once in order to deliver a depiction of overall training attendance. Training events are categorized by technical, management/leadership, professional development or administrative training events, and are determined by the audience they serve (e.g., a scientist attending a writing skills course would be grouped under professional development while a writer attending a writing skills course would be grouped under technical).

Footnotes
- Source of training measures data is from the Staff College SF-182 Database, CFSAN Internal Event Forms and sign in sheets.
- Some individual employees have participated in multiple training events within the same calendar month, which can result in an employee being counted more than once.
- The most recent calendar month may not include trainings of which an SF-182 has not yet been certified (minimum 30 day turnaround process post-course completion) and therefore may calculate a different total by the date of submission of the next quarterly CFSAN FDA-TRACK report.

Technical training is defined as curricula that focus on refreshing and improving specialized skills that FDA personnel need in order to maintain a current workforce.
