Dictionary: Globalization changed FDA’s environment for regulating products. Based on the volume of imported products, FDA identified China, India, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America as areas in which to establish a permanent presence. These foreign posts send inquiries/requests for information to FDA headquarters. The International Affairs Staff in the Office of the Center Director is responsible for responding and/or coordinating responses with technical experts to inquiries from foreign posts concerning food and cosmetic products. This measure evaluates CFSAN's timeliness in responding to these inquiries.
