Dictionary: The Performance Management Appraisal Program (PMAP) is the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (DHHS) uniform performance management system. The program is designed to link performance requirements to DHHS and FDA strategic planning initiatives. The goal of the program is to identify individual and/or team accountability for accomplishing organizational goals. Each employee is measured on specific critical elements that identify those key individual performance outcomes and specific end-results that contribute to the success of DHHS and the FDA. These results-oriented outcomes should be consistent with strategic planning initiatives, such as the HHS Strategic Plan, and FDA program goals and objectives.
