Dictionary: The Office of the Center Director is responsible for answering the public's and Congress’ questions about the work done by FDA/CVM. This measure tracks the Office of the Center Director’s timeliness in completing referrals as tracked by the AIMS system and Office of Legislation which are related to all Congressional correspondence. Congressional correspondences include: general information requests, constituent related requests, letters expressing concerns from Congress, questions for the record related to hearings, briefing requests, technical and document requests.

This measure tracks the Office of the Center Director’s timeliness in completing referrals related to all non-Congressional correspondence. Non-Congressional letter correspondences include: public inquiries received by the Secretary, Commissioner, and Center Director regarding: general information requests, expertise of a specific subject/issue, pre and post approvals, hot topic items, and any other CVM related issues.
