Number of state-level outreach events conducted in the month
Dictionary: This measure tracks industry participation in FDA outreach activities about compliance with the Egg Rule. Such outreach activities are designed to educate industry on the regulatory issues and requirements of the Egg Rule. Industry participation will be measured by state, using information from meeting organizers about the percentage of that state’s industry that attended the event. This percentage will be weighted by the amount of industry in that state, so a national percentage of industry participation can be calculated. Large producers are egg producers having 50,000 or more laying hens. Large producers account for about 80% of egg production in the United States.
