About FDA

Number of calculated FOIA assignments processed in the month (1)

Dictionary: This measure automatically calculates the number of assignments that have been processed in a single month. Processing includes responses from FDA which provided copies of agency records; responses indicating that no responsive agency records were located; requests which were appropriately handled outside of FOIA; and referrals to other federal agencies. Note that a processed assignment does not necessarily indicate that the request has been completed because a single request may be assigned to multiple parties.

  • (1) Figures indicate the number of assignments processed by the component, and may not be limited to the release of records under FOIA. A processed request can indicate that records were sent, no records were found, the request was de-logged and handled outside of FOIA, the request was referred to another agency, the request was found to belong to another component, etc.
