About FDA
Cumulative percentage of federal employees who completed safety training within the FY
Dictionary: RCRM is responsible for managing the safety training for NCTR federal employees. These employees are required to take safety training at new hire orientation and periodically as new hazards arise and, thus, may be required to complete multiple types of safety training per year. For purposes of this metric, the employees who have satisfied all of their annual safety training requirements will be counted as ‘1’. Please note that contractors are excluded from this metric. Although NCTR will assist with training contractors, it is the contractor’s employer who is responsible for ensuring that its employees complete safety training per OSHA (1).
With employees trained in safety procedures, there is less risk of an accident occurring, thus allowing FDA employees to focus on their work supporting the FDA.
