About FDA

Cumulative number of legal and regulatory training programs (one-hour minimum) provided to FDA clients within the fiscal year

Dictionary: To accomplish its public health mission, FDA implements complex statutory provisions in the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the Public Health Service Act. Recently, Congress has enacted legislation giving FDA new authorities (e.g. to regulate tobacco products), and FDA has hired many new employees. Increasing OCC's training for FDA employees on legal and regulatory issues will significantly enhance the agency's effectiveness in meeting its mission.
