Dictionary: To accomplish its public health mission, FDA implements complex statutory provisions in the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the Public Health Service Act. Recently, Congress has enacted legislation giving FDA new authorities (e.g. to regulate tobacco products), and FDA has hired many new employees.
