About FDA

Average bounce rate of visitors to the newsroom on fda.gov during the month

Dictionary: The FDA Newsroom (newsroom) is a resource for consumers that contains press announcements, press releases, transcripts of FDA press briefings, and FDA media contacts. It also contains fact sheets, news media policies, weekly media tip sheets, and links to frequently requested FDA items such as warning letters, guidances, and what's new by FDA-regulated products.OEA's Web and Digital Media Staff monitors visits to the newsroom to assess viewer volume and trends. It also monitors the bounce rate of visitors to the newsroom to determine the effectiveness at generating the interest of visitors. A bounce rate represents the percentage of visitors who enter a website and bounce (leave the website) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same website. A page with a low bounce rate typically indicates that the page effectively causes visitors to view more pages and continue on deeper into the website. A page with a high bounce rate typically indicates that the page is not doing a good job of attracting the continued interest of visitors. A 50 percent bounce rate is typically considered average.
