Dictionary: The Office of Information Management provides and manages information technology (IT) and other related services to ensure FDA can carry out the mission of promoting and protecting public health in an efficient, effective, productive, and timely manner. Information Technology applications are used by FDA employees to perform their regulatory duties (e.g., research, product review, inspections). In order for these applications to function they reside on infrastructure platforms (servers and storage devices connected to the FDA network) within the FDA Datacenters; Ashburn Contractor Hosted Data Center (CHDC) and White Oak Data Center (WODC). The mission critical applications overall reliability target is 99.97% which equates to 2.63 hours per year or 13 minutes per month. Automated monitoring tools are used to monitor and calculate the data center platforms and mission critical applications reliability.
