Maintain number of Personal Identification Verification (PIV) Cards issued annually

Dictionary: The PIV Card supports Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) and Logical Access Control Systems (LACS) for federal employees and contractors. Physical Access involves access to secured buildings and areas within those buildings (Guards and Gates). Logical Access involves all aspects of access to information technology (IT) Systems including: network login, remote access, digital signature, email encryption, application access, access to government applications outside of FDA, and contains a computer chip, which allows employee to receive, store, recall, and send information in a secure method. OSO aims to issue all new employees and contractors their PIV Cards in a timely manner. Note, a majority (approximately 99%) of employees and contractors receive their badges during employee orientation, but PIV Cards are also issued if it has expired, is inoperable, or is lost.
