Dictionary: The Office of Criminal Investigations (OCI) works with both domestic and international partners to investigate parties that violate the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act (FDCA).Convictions occur when an individual has plead guilty or been declared guilty by a qualified court for violation of the FDCA. Monetary penalties are collected through fines and restitutions imposed by the U.S. Courts for criminal acts enforced under FDCA. Press releases issued relative to OCI investigative activities may report on items such as arrests, convictions, and sentencing.
