Cumulative FY 2010 Target: 8,495

Dictionary: Samples received from domestic food producers, processors, repackers or storage facilities. These samples consist of environmental, in-line, and finished product samples. Environmental sampling consists of samples of the surrounding areas where food is being produced, processed, repacked or stored. In-line samples are taken from food contact surfaces. Finished product samples are samples of the intended finished food product. These samples will also include a small number of Total Diet Basket samples. The total diet basket is a program in which consumer level food items are purchased off-the-shelf and analyzed each year to determine levels of contaminants and nutrients.
