Title:  Differential uptake and oxidative stress response in zebrafish fed a single dose of the principal copper and zinc enriched sub-cellular fractions of Gammarus pulex.

Authors:  Khan FR, Bury NR, Hogstrand C

Drug:  Copper

Fish species:  Danio, zebra (zebrafish)

Date:  2010

Sample:  whole body-minus intestinal tract

Ave Weight (gm):  0.55

Ave Water temp (°C):  28

Water:  Freshwater

Dosage:  0.008 mg/kg sd

Route:  PO

Comments:  Water supplemented with 60 mg/L sea salt and 200 uM CaCl2. Dose was fed via accumulation in amphipods. Amphipods were dosed for 16d at 11 ug Cu/L added as 65CuCl2. Amphipod accumulated 7.4 ug 65Cu/g after 16d. Water supplemented with 60 mg/L sea salt and 200 uM CaCl2. Fed copper in MRG+exo from amphipod measured 8 ug Cu/g . Assimilation efficiency 8h post-dose=51.0%, 24h post-dose=4.7%, 72h post-dose=0.80%.
