Title:  Accumulation and loss of residues of 3-trifluoromethyl-4-nitrophenol (TFM) in fish muscle tissue : laboratory studies.

Authors:  Sills JB, Allen JL

Drug:  TFM-(3-Trifluoromethyl-4-nitrophenol)

Fish species:  Catfish, channel

Date:  1975

t1/2-hr:  8

est:  est

Sample:  muscle

Ave Weight (gm):  800

Ave Water temp (°C):  19

Water:  Freshwater

Dosage:  1 mg/l 12 hours

Route:  BATH

Comments:  Residues in all 8 species were near limit of detection (0.01 ug/g) within 24 hrs. High pH in water reduces absorption (seen with increased hardness-which also incr pH). Temperature had little effect on residue levels. Hardness = 20-22, pH - 7.1-7.6, - residues at Withdrawal time 0 h=1.67, 4 h=0.18, 8 h=0.06, 12 h = 0.02, 24 h=0.02.
