| Agenda | The committee will discuss: (1) regulatory and non-regulatory mechanisms to enhance mammography quality while reducing the regulatory and inspection burden on facilities; (2)recommendations made by the Institute of Medicine regarding the current MQSA program, interventional mammography, and non-mammographic breast imaging procedures; and (3) all guidance documents issued since the last meeting. The committee will also receive updates on recently approved alternative standards, voluntary stereotactic accreditation programs, and the radiological health program. MQSA regulations and guidance documents are available to the public on the Internet at http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/mammography. |
| Procedure | Interested persons may present data, information, or views, orally or in writing, on issues pending before the committee. Written submissions may be made to the contact person by September 5, 2005. Oral presentations from the public will be scheduled between approximately 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on September 26 and 27, 2005. Time allotted for each presentation may be limited. Those desiring to make formal oral presentations should notify the contact person before September 5, 2005, and submit a brief statement of the general nature of the evidence or arguments they wish to present, the names and addresses of proposed participants, and an indication of the approximate time requested to make their presentation. |
