How does FDA use "ContactsListing"?

FDA uses ContactsListing to:

• Send information on specific topics or products.
• Notify members about public meetings on specific topics.

What information does "ContactsListing" collect?

ContactsListing needs to have only your email address and zipcode so it can send you email. Your zipcode serves as your password. Note to previous members of ContactsListing: Your previous password will work but we encourage you to change it to your zipcode when you revisit ContactsListing.

You may choose to enter other optional information about yourself, too. It can may help us understand more about the membership of ContactsListing.

Can I see the list of members?

No, the list will be used only by FDA to contact members by email.

Who should join?

Consumers, health professionals, device user facilities, members of academia, members of the medical device industry, and any others who are interested in FDA policymaking about medical devices or receiving email alerts about specific devices or topic areas.

How do I join?

You can join by clicking on the "Join Contacts Listing" link on the left side of this page and entering your email address and zipcode.

Can anyone join?

Anyone can join if they have an email address, unless they are younger than 13 years old. If you are younger than 13 years old, federal law prohibits you from joining this database. See the provisions of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (15 U.S.C. 6501-6505) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (16 CFR Part 312, 64 FR 59888-59915(Nov 3, 1999). If you are younger than 13 years old, ask your parent or guardian to join for you.

How long does my membership last?

Your membership lasts as long as you want it to.

How much does it cost to join?

ContactsListing is a free service provided by FDA.

What if I don't have an email address?

You can't join ContactsListing without an email address.

What if my email address changes after I have joined?

If your email address changes or any of your other information changes, simply update your information by clicking on the "ContactsListing Home" link on the top right corner of this webpage.

What if I forgot the zipcode I used to register with?

Is the information I list on ContactsListing private?

No. The Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. § 552) requires federal agencies to release some kinds of information when requested by the public. So, under this Act, others may request and receive part or all of your information. Do not enter information that you consider private into ContactsListing.

Can I cancel my membership?

To cancel your membership, select Cancel Membership on the left side of this page.

What should I do if I receive unwanted emails from the ContactsListing?

If you receive unwanted emails, you should update your member information. You may have selected topics in which you are not interested. If you still receive unwanted email from ContactsListing, contact the ContactsListing administrator by clicking on mailto:cdrhclist@cdrh.fda.gov.
