The cross-linked polyacrylate copolymer may contain optional adjuvant substances permitted for such use by regulation in 21 CFR Parts 170 through 179. The polyacrylate copolymer must meet the extractives limitations listed in 21 CFR 177.1211(c) and is limited to use as a fluid absorbent in food-contact materials used in the packaging of fruit and vegetables at room temperature and below.
