Title:  Determination and kinetics of enrofloxacin and ciprofloxacin in tra catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) and giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) using a liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry method.

Authors:  Danyi S, Widart J, Douny C, Dang PK, Baiwir D, Wang N, Tu HT, Tung VT, Phuong NT, Krestemont P, Scippo ML

Drug:  Enrofloxacin

Fish species:  Catfish, striped (tra)

Date:  2010

Sample:  muscle+skin

Ave Weight (gm):  13

Ave Water temp (°C):  31

Water:  Freshwater

Dosage:  20 mg/kg 7d

Route:  PO

Comments:  Fish were euthanized on ice. Fish were distributed in three densities. For a density of 80 fish/ m3:EF concentration 0d post-dose-dose =5095 ug/kg, 1d post-dose=753 ug/kg, 3d post-dose=387 ug/kg, 7d post-dose=131 ug/kg;CF concentration 0d post-dose=155 ug/kg, 1d post-dose=35 ug/kg, 3d post-dose=20 ug/kg, 7d post-dose=15 ug/kg. Mean detected levels of CF was much lower than EF, indicating only a small portion of EF is metabolized in CF.

Metabolites:  ciprofloxacin
