Identifying Possible Threats

Can you find three possible threats in the picture scenario of a food production work area? Scroll over each threat image in the picture and an explanation will appear.

Open Door - Unauthorized Access

Unsecured areas may allow access of an individual that does not have authority to be in that area. In addition, an unescorted visitor may wander into areas that they are not allowed access and may be a threat. You should be aware of who is allowed access to the work area.

Boxes/Barrels - Disturbed Materials

Changes to the work area such as to the equipment, materials and sanitation may be indicative of an act of intentional adulteration. You should examine your work area prior to, during, and after your shift for evidence of tampering or suspicious activity.

Vat Propped Open

You can clearly see that this vat of material which is usually closed and locked has been propped open creating accessibility to the food inside. You should take note that the mitigation strategy, the lock, has been circumvented and immediately notify your supervisor.
