Title:  Piperonyl butoxide enhances the bioconcentration and photoinduced toxicity of fluoranthene and benzo[a]pyrene to larvae of the grass shrimp (Palaemonetes pugio)

Authors:  Weinstein JE, Garner TR

Drug:  Piperonyl butoxide+benzo [a] pyrene

Fish species:  Shrimp, daggerblade grass

Date:  2008

Sample:  whole body

Ave Weight (gm):  0

Ave Water temp (°C):  22

Water:  Saltwater

Dosage:  0 mg/L 96h

Route:  BATH

Comments:  Benzo [a] pyrine (BaP) concentrations of 0, 0.11, 0.24, 0.54, 1.10, and 1.90 ug/L were achieved for each dose of Piperonyl butoxide (PBO). LC50=1.0ug/L. LD50=1076. PBO significantly increased the photoinduced toxicity of BaP. Water salinity was 20 ppt.
