CBER On-Line - Latest System Changes

The CBER On-Line website is in use and is being upgraded continuously. CBER reviews the site periodically to ensure reliable access for data entry and retrieval of saved data. To facilitate user understanding of recent changes, the upgrades made to the system are outlined below.

Version 1.15.04 Release Information - Release Date 04/11/2024

  • Implemented FIS Migration Notification Banner in CBER On-Line.

Version 1.13.00 Release Information - Release Date 03/15/2019

  • Implemented increased password complexity requirements: Minimum length of 8 characters, must contain an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character. Passwords may not contain the user's first name, last name, or username.
  • New passwords must not be the same as the previous password used.
  • Replaced the password recovery feature with password reset.
  • Reduced password expiration from 90 days to 60 days.
  • Accounts are locked after 5 consecutive failed attempts. Reset the password to unlock.

Version 1.12.00 Release Information - Release Date 09/21/2018

  • Modifications made to enhance system security.
  • Added a system use notification to the Login Screen to notify users that use of the system indicates consent to monitoring and recording and that unauthorized use of the system is subject to penalties.
  • Removed references to Form FDA 2830 and Form FDA 3356 from the application.
  • Removed the fillable form on the CBER On-Line - Contacts page.

Version 1.8.1 Release Information - Release Date 01/25/2013

  • The Change Password screen was modified to prohibit navigation to the CBER Online Main Menu with an expired password.

Version 1.8.0 Release Information - Release Date 01/26/2007

  • Login Screen enhancements were made to better inform users and improve navigation.
  • Forgot Password screen text was improved to better instruct users when they have difficulty retrieving a password.
  • The email for CBER Online technical support is now cberwebappsupport@fda.hhs.gov. Email sent by the system will come from this address.
  • When a support request is submitted through the "Contact CBER Online Technical Support" screen, a copy of the email will also be sent to email address provided by the user in the field "*Your EMail Address".

Version 1.7.0 Release Information - Release Date 07/31/2006

  • The system was modified to allow compatibility with upgraded development software. No functional changes were made in this release.

  • Maintenance related updates to email distribution and variable storage.

Version 1.5.0 Release Information - Release Date 02/13/2004

  • New passwords cannot contain your system user name. All Password requirements are clearly listed on the change password screen.
  • Users are notified by popup message when the attempt to save a new password with more than 10 characters.
  • Mixed case email addresses are now accepted as input on the Forgot Password screen.
  • Interface look and feel has been updated with the FDA standard template.

Version 1.4.0 Release Information - Release Date 08/08/2003

  • The CBER On-Line Main Menu has changed to reflect the production release of the Electronic Human Cell and Tissue Establishment Registration System (eHCTERS).

Version 1.3.0 Release Information - Release Date 07/02/2003

  • All new passwords must be 8 to 10 characters in length and cannot equal the first or last name listed for your account.

Version 1.2.0 Release Information - Release Date 05/20/2003

  • The Contact CBER link opens a web form allowing users to send support emails to 'CBERWebAppSupport@cber.fda.gov'
  • The change password functionality has been moved to it's own screen. Open the screen by pressing the "Change Password" button on the CBER On-Line - MAIN MENU.
  • First time users are now required to change their password upon initial login.
  • The system now requires each user to change their password every 90 days.
  • The Web Accessibility link now opens the new Web Accessibility URL.
  • CBER On-Line Main Menu tab order was updated.
  • Modify User screen now validates that account information was changed before sending a confirmation email.
  • The Session Expiration warning refresh functionality was updated for Modify User and Change Password screens.

Version 1.1.2 Release Information - Release Date 04/03/2003

  • Allow users to input an apostrophe in their email address.
  • Removed Log Out link when user was not logged into the system.
  • Eliminated easy to confuse characters from random password generator.

Version 1.1.1 Release Information - Release Date 01/10/2003

  • Allow user to modify account without changing password.
  • Non-Specific code optimization.

Version 1.1.0 Release Information - Release Date 12/09/2002

  • Added a page to the Create New Account function that tells the user that they will need to wait for their password to come via e-mail (and that it may take up to 6 hours or so). This will help clarify that a user must wait for their password to be assigned to them.
  • The system will automatically delete blank spaces added after the user name or password.
  • The "mouse over" on the main menu was fixed so a user that had "show JavaScript errors" selected in they security settings would not be stuck when they try to continue to an application such as eBER or eBPDR (since an error was detected in Internet Explorer 5.0).
