5 Warnings and Precautions

5.8 Hypoglycemia in Patients with Diabetes

Newly added subsection:

Hypoglycemia, including severe hypoglycemia, has been reported following initiation of JAK inhibitors in patients with diabetes.

During treatment with LEQSELVI, consider increased monitoring of blood glucose in patients with diabetes. Advise patients with diabetes to contact their healthcare provider(s) if they experience signs or symptoms consistent with hypoglycemia.

7. Low blood sugar in people with diabetes. If you have diabetes, your healthcare provider may instruct you to check your blood sugar levels more often during treatment with LEQSELVI. Call your healthcare provider if you have any problems with low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

Before taking LEQSELVI, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • have diabetes.

Hypoglycemia in Patients with Diabetes

Consider advising patients with diabetes to increase monitoring of blood glucose, since hypoglycemia, including severe hypoglycemia, has been reported after starting JAK inhibitors. Advise patients with diabetes to maintain appropriate awareness of blood glucose control during treatment and contact their healthcare provider(s) if they experience signs or symptoms consistent with hypoglycemia [see Warnings and Precautions (5.8)].
