Scope/Abstract1.1 This specification covers the chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements for the manufacture of wrought 18chromium-14nickel-2.5molybdenum stainless steel in the form of surgical fixation wire. 1.2 Units-The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system are not necessarily exact equivalents; therefore, to ensure conformance with the standard, each system shall be used independently of the other, and values from the two systems shall not be combined.

FDA will accept declarations of conformity, in support of premarket submissions, to [Rec# 8-393] until December 20, 2026. After this transition period, declarations of conformity to [Rec# 8-393] will not be accepted. |
