This device is indicated for use in the treatment of patient with hemophilia a and b who have factor viii or factor ix inhibitor titers above 10 bethesda unit/ml (bu/ml. The purpose of the system is to lower the inhibitor levels so that routine clotting factor replacement therapy can be considered. It may be used in an acute setting (to control bleeding during an acute hemorrhage or for emergency surgery) or as a preventative measure to prepare patients for elective surgery.
