Event Description
|
The patient's attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for therapeutic treatment of a hernia.It was reported that after implant, the patient experienced severe pain, hernia recurrence, infection, scar tissue, draining, granulation tissue, inflammation, and abscess.Post-operative treatment included revision surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia repair with new mesh, removal of old sutures, abdominal wall reconstruction with retro-rectus placement of biologic mesh with component separation, and mesh removal.

The patient's attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for therapeutic treatment of a hernia.It was reported that after implant, the patient experienced severe pain, hernia recurrence, infection, scar tissue, draining, granulation tissue, inflammation, fistula, scarring, emotionally injury, unable to lift objects, and abscess.Post-operative treatment included revision surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia repair with new mesh, removal of old sutures, umbilicus removal, abdominal wall reconstruction with retro-rectus placement of biologic mesh with component separation, medication, and mesh removal.Relevant tests/laboratory data: 13 sep 2017: pathology report from explanted hernia mesh showed acute and chronic inflammation with granulation tissue consistent with wall of abscess.Unable to exclude as involving parietex mesh.
