Event Description
A stealth peripheral orbital atherectomy device (oad) was used to treat a highly calcified superficial femoral artery (sfa) with two 99% calcified lesions. The oad and guide catheter crossed the profunda with some difficulty related to patient anatomy. The oad was then used to treat the sfa on low speed.Imaging was performed and it was noted that additional treatment was required, so the oad was operated in a proximal to distal direction on low and medium speeds.Following treatment with the oad, imaging revealed no flow in the vessel.Multiple balloon inflations were performed to restore flow, and the procedure was successfully completed with no additional patient consequences.
