Initial reporter address: (b)(6).The lot was manufactured from may 22, 2020 - may 23, 2020.The device was received for evaluation.Unaided visual inspection was performed and it was observed that the clamp of the sample was able to be closed but became damaged in the process.It was observed that there was one (1) loose piece broken off from the inside of the closed damaged clamp.No further testing was performed.The condition of damaged clamp was verified.The cause of the condition was determined to be a manufacturing related issue.A batch review was conducted and there were no deviations found related to this reported condition during the manufacture of this lot.Should additional relevant information become available, a supplemental report will be submitted.
 
Event Description
During a sample evaluation, it was noted that the clamp of a 2000ml eva (ethyl vinyl acetate) tpn (total parenteral nutrition) bag was damaged when closing.The sample was returned for evaluation due to the customer report that after compounding the bag, they were unable to close the clamp.This was identified prior to use on a patient.There was no patient involvement.No additional information is available.
