Event Description
Information was received from multiple sources (manufacturer representative, healthcare provider) regarding a patient who was receiving water via an implantable pump for spinal pain.It was reported that the pump was audibly alarming.The pump had been implanted on (b)(6) 2021 and upon looking at report code 291 was seen on the report indicating a pending alarm.The agent explained pending alarm and also reviewed the alarm can be silenced.Rep states she will see the patient on (b)(6) 2021 and the alarm will be silenced then.Reviewed to call tech services for assistance with programming.Additional information was received.The rep was meeting the patient on the date of the call ((b)(6) 2021).Caller met the patient and ran the logs and it was seen that a motor stall occur (b)(6) 2021 and recovered on (b)(6) 2021.The agent reviewed the pending alarms and was able to help caller silence the alarm.Then they reviewed to check the account on those dates when the motor stall occurred to see where the pumps were.The caller stated she believes they were in shipping and the cold weather impacted them, causing the motor stalls.Caller stated since it recovered they will still use the pump for the patient.
