It was reported that during a cryo ablation procedure, air ingress occurred when the sheath was inserted into the left atrium or when contrast media was introduced into the left inferior pulmonary vein.
Following ablation of the left superior pulmonary vein, bradycardia occurred.
Right ventricular pacing was performed.
Then, st elevation occurred and progressed to atrioventricular block and ventricular fibrillation (vf).
The vf stopped.
A coronary angiography was performed and air was noted.
An attempt was made to collect the air, but it was absorbed into the patient's body.
The st elevation recovered.
The case was completed with cryo.
No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
