Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) regarding a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for non-malignant pain.It was reported that the reason for the call was due to the patient (pt) needing an mri.The caller stated that the pt had the ins removed on (b)(6) 2017, but the lead was still implanted. The caller wanted to know if the pt was eligible for mri with abandoned lead. The caller read from the hcp's notes stating that the pt had the scs placed "without ever having decompression of surgery of her nerve roots in lower back" and that post-scs implant the pt's "symptomsreturned and motor function deteriorated in the right leg to the point that she had foot drop".
