Event Description
Information was received from multiple sources (manufacturer representative, healthcare provider) regarding a patient who was receiving gablofen (2000 mcg/ml at 200 mcg/day) via an implantable pump for intractable spasticity and cerebral palsy. It was reported that the patient experienced withdrawal, itchiness, increased spasticity, and they were twitching. after accessing the pocket, the healthcare provider (hcp) noticed the sutureless connector was not attached to the pump and decided to revise it with a new connector.A revision kit was opened and connected to the existing catheter and then attached to the pump. There were no external factors that contributed to the issue, it just came disconnected. No diagnostics/troubleshooting were performed. The issue was resolved at the time of the report. The patient weighed 130 pounds and their medical history was unknown. The patient was without injury at the time of the report.
