Event Description
It was reported that the customer experienced a blood glucose (bg) level of 49 mg/dl, resulting in customer falling and fracturing wrist and stubbed toes.The cause was unknown; however, customer's continuous glucose monitor was not available due to a non-tandem sensor issue, and customer was unaware of bg level.The customer went to the emergency room and was subsequently hospitalized.Bg was treated with glucose tablets and consumption of carbohydrates.Reportedly, the customer was released on 6/18/2021 with the issue resolved; however customer required surgery for fractured wrist.System check with tandem technical support confirmed that the pump was functioning as intended.
