Event Description
|
Information was received from a healthcare provider regarding a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for gastric stimulation and gastrointestinal/ pelvic floor.It was reported that the patient experienced symptom return, as they are 3+ months post-op, after gaining 30 lbs post-implant, the patient experienced loss of appetite around (b)(6), return of frequent vomiting one week later.The hcp performed an impedance check of the implanted 37800 device, determined that the impedance is out of range (512@implant 472@(b)(6) follow-up appointment 1262@today's appointment).Programmer showed lead 2 to be out of range (1035 ohms), and lead 3 to be in normal range (321 ohms).Source/cause of out of range impedance is unknown.Rep recommended hcp seek an ap x-ray and endoscopy to search for abnormalities (lead migration, kinks, etc) before recommending additional action or surgical intervention.No further complications were reported at this time.

Additional information was received from a healthcare professional (hcp).The hcp reported that device removal/replacement is not planned.The original battery and leads still in use.When the battery was taken out of the abdominal pocket, the impedance read within range.Prior to surgery it had read 1035 and 1262.
