It was reported that this cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker (crt-p) exhibited an automatic right ventricular (rv) lead safety switch (lss) to unipolar configuration, due to high out of range pace lead impedance measurement greater than 2,000 ohms.Oversensing was noted that triggered non-sustained ventricular tachycardia (nsvt) events while programmed unipolar.Technical services (ts) discussed programming options, instructed the health care professional (hcp) how to disable the lss feature, and suggested the rv impedance alert limit be increased. The device was reprogrammed to bipolar for optimization, at the physician's discretion. No adverse patient effects were reported. The device remains in service.
