Event Description

Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for unknown indications for use.Pt stated they had been dealing with their ins for 7 years now.Pt said the ins hadn't helped since it was put in.Pt said they had bad luck with the reps; pt said they thought they were rude and said one rep told pt the ins was not coming out of their body so pt didn't see reps anymore and the ins hadn't been tuned up in about 4 years.Pt also said they get shocks from "it" and the amount of batteries they put into "this" was ridiculous.Pt said they wanted the ins taken out or have a newer model put in so pt could have an mri (which pt said a person with back issues should be able to have).Pt said they had talked to their implanting healthcare provider (hcp), but pt thinks that hcp was only in it for the money and pt was getting ready to look for a lawyer due to the hcp.Pt said the hcp allowed pt's nerve damage to go on so long that pt could barely walk or play with their granddaughter - pt said they felt 90 even though they were 51.Pt said the last time they spoke with that hcp, they told the pt not to worry about the pain.Pt said they had tried seeing many other hcps, but they wouldn't touch the pt because hcp put the device in.Pt mentioned one hcp thought about putting a pain pump in with the ins because the pt had so much pain and ins hadn't helped.Pss offered physician listings, but pt said they just wanted to speak with a rep and see if they could help the pt with their situation.Pss emailed field team in pt's area. The patient mentioned unrelated medical history including pt was on depression meds.
