Event Description
|
Physician was attempting to use the chocolate balloon to post dilate a stent.
The balloon was removed out of the packaging already and it was decided to use it for post dilation.
Upon use the constraining cage got stripped off the balloon.
Physician upsized the sheath and tried to snare the embolized cage.
The cage was difficult to visualize so physician proceeded to use ivus to help visualize it.
After snaring the cage physician could not retract the cage through the sheath, so a stent was used to jail the cage to the wall successfully.
Physician noted that the patient did have some atheroembolism during procedure, likely due to the snaring/manipulation.
Patient status unknown.
