Manufacturer Narrative
The reported issue was addressed with phone support. The intuitive surgical inc (isi) field service engineer followed up with the customer and was advised that power cycling the surgeon side console (ssc) resolved the issue and that there were no further problems. No site visit was conducted. The system was working properly and no additional action was required.A review of the site's complaint history does not show any additional complaints related to this product and/or this event. There were no images or videos provided for review. This complaint is considered a reportable malfunction due to the following conclusion: system unavailability after the start of a surgical procedure could lead to the procedure being converted/aborted and may lead to an injury due to the patient¿s inability to tolerate a procedure change. While there was no harm or injury to the patient, the reported failure mode could likely cause or contribute to an adverse event if it were to recur.

Event Description
It was reported that during a da vinci-assisted benign hysterectomy surgical procedure that the touchpad on surgeon side console 1 (ssc1) was not working. The customer moved over to the second surgeon side console (ssc2) and continued with the procedure. The tech support engineer (tse) recommended to reboot the system, but the customer was not willing to at the time of call. The customer stated they would reboot in between cases and requested that their field service engineer (fse) follow up.There were no reports of patient injury.
