Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) and a company representative regarding a patient who was receiving gablofen (2000 mcg/ml at 979.7 mcg/day) via an implantable pump.The indication for pump use was cerebral palsy and intractable spasticity.On 27-sep-2021 the hcp reported that a safety count alarm occurred.The safety count silent alarm was discussed during the call which resolved the issue.Additional information was received on 29-oct-2021 from the hcp who reported that the logs had been read routinely and then the safety count was noted and discussed with technical support during the initial call.The pump continued to run at the programmed settings and no action was required.Additional information was received on 23-dec-2021 from a company representative who reported that the pump was replaced due to normal battery depletion.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
Analysis of the pump found ¿motor feedthru anomaly ¿ shorting across insulator¿.If information is provided in the future, a supplemental report will be issued.
