Information was received from a consumer via a manufacturer representative regarding a patient who was receiving morphine (10mg/ml a t 2.399mg/day) and clonidine (765mcg/ml at 183.52mcg/day) via an implantable pump for non-malignant pain and spinal pain indications. It was reported that the patient stated they were playing golf approximately 3 weeks ago and afterwards they had a return of pain, sweats and chills. The healthcare provider (hcp) accessed the catheter access port (cap) with no flow approximately 2-3 weeks ago.The cause of the event was undetermined. The patient had a catheter revision on (b)(6) 2022.During surgery, the hcp gently pulled on the spinal segment which reportedly had some resistance, until it became easier to access with no resistance. The spinal segment was explanted and replaced with a new 8782.The hcp then aspirated 2ml from cap and the event was resolved.
