Event Description
Medtronic received information regarding a navigation system. It was reported that during a case, the navigation system suddenly lost communication to its' emitter. It was noted that looking at the emitter details, both the emitter and axiem box displayed 'emitter communication error'. There was some troubleshooting done to try and resolve the issue, the site triedturning the emitter on using the button below the tracking window in the software and also rebooted the system. The issue still persisted, there was a patient involved.

Medtronic is submitting this report to comply with fda reporting regulations under 21 cfr parts 4 and 803.
