Event Description
|
Information received by medtronic indicated that insulin pump alarmed motor error.The insulin pump was bumped several times.The drive support cap appeared normal or slightly indented.The customer was able to clear and able to rewind insulin pump.Customer reported that they were hospitalized for high blood glucose.No further patient complications were reported.Troubleshooting was successfully performed; however, the customer will discontinue use of the device.

There was no mention of pump being bumped.The customer¿s blood glucose level was 600 mg/dl at the time of incident.The customer¿s current blood glucose value was 100 mg/dl.The customer experienced diabetic ketoacidosis, vomiting, weakness and confusion due to high blood glucose value.The customer treated high blood glucose with insulin drip.
